Community Engagement Update
After the second public engagement session, MSA design compiled community feedback for potential updates. Renderings were created to give a visual example of the proposed upgrades and were shared at the third public engagement session. These designs include key upgrades that will not change the current footprint of the building.
Noteworthy Upgrades include:
Over 4,400 square feet of additional fitness area includes a proposed outdoor fitness area.
Embracing a multi-use approach throughout the facility allowing for more programming opportunities.
A demonstration kitchen for programming and rental services.
Locker room upgrades that include family changing rooms and updating the functionality of the space while maintaining the same number of lockers and showers.
Capturing underutilized patio space off the teen lounge to create a hub for multi-use entertainment.
While these renderings include many refreshing features, please remember that these are not final designs!
In 2022, Council directed $3.1 million of ARPA funds to initiate multiple phases for renovations to the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC). The first initial phase included replacement of the indoor track surface, upgrades to the fitness floor equipment and furnishings and the addition of an outdoor fitness area. Council subsequently directed City staff to begin a comprehensive update of the DCRC Refresh master plan to find future phases of renovations identified in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan that was approved in October 2023. Council also recently approved $4.5 million in DCRC improvements as part of the 2024 Capital Improvements Plan.
