City of Dublin Parks and Recreation is dedicated to promoting accessibility and inclusion for all members of our community. Our initiatives are driven by our mission to be the most resilient global city of choice and a community where everyone deserves equal access to public spaces and services. We aim to work closely with local organizations and community members to gather feedback and support the planning initiatives fostered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan.
At a minimum, the plan will provide recommendations for complying with accessibility requirements as mandated by the ADA and State of Ohio. It will also provide a basis for prioritizing, budgeting, implementing, and monitoring barrier removal.
Scope of Work
Self-Evaluation Assessment – the assessment process identifies any programmatic, physical, and communication barriers limiting the accessibility of the Department’s programs, services, activities, and facilities.
Community Engagement – provides the Dublin community with the opportunity to share their input regarding identifying accessibility gaps within the park system.
ADA Transition Plan – Develop a comprehensive plan that is implementable and reflects the process by which the Department will achieve ADA compliance.
Current Status
Over a third of the park system has been assessed and the consultant has begun analysis of Dublin’s Parks and Recreation programs, services, and activities. They will be continuing the facility assessments at the end of June and will have begun the communications and website analysis at that time.
