Project Overview

The City of Dublin is developing a Pedestrian & Bicycle School Safety Action Plan to improve how students and families walk and bike to and from school. The plan will focus on routes and crossings along public streets around schools within City of Dublin corporation limits (see Focus Areas below).

Building on Envision Dublin’s Mobility and Transportation Chapter, the plan addresses identified gaps such as missing sidewalks and shared use paths near schools. It evaluates current conditions and identifies practical opportunities to improve safety, accessibility and comfort for people of all ages and abilities.

The project includes a review of existing infrastructure, traffic patterns and school‑area operations, along with a robust public engagement process. Community input will play a key role in shaping recommendations that support safer routes to schools across Dublin!
